Waterstone's launches Christmas TV ad

Waterstone's is launching its Christmas TV advertising with an

animated spot that plays on product promotions and festive imagery. The

ad, which airs Friday and runs until Christmas Eve, was created by bds

beechwood with media by PHD. It features the strapline 'Waterstone's.

The last word in books', opening on a flurry of snow. The snow changes

into letters which form the company's name and settle on what appears to

be snow-clad hills but turns out to be the open spine of a book. As the

pages flip, revealing a series of discounted items and gift ideas, a

voiceover extols the range of books on sale. Press and point of sale

advertising will run in conjunction with the TV campaign.
