Waters appointed chief executive of MindShare EMEA

LONDON - MindShare has appointed Nick Waters as chief executive of the agency for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

Waters, currently MindShare Asia Pacific CEO, was appointed to the post by Dominic Proctor, chief executive of MindShare Worldwide, replacing Julio Malegori, who will now head up the Italian offices of MindShare.

In Asia Pacific, Waters will be replaced by Ashutosh Srivastava, currently chief executive of WPP pooled buying operation GroupM in South Asia, based in India.

Srivastava was part of the team that established MindShare in South Asia in January 2002. He was the managing director at MindShare India up until 2004, when he took up the role of CEO for GroupM South Asia and was part of the regional executive committee.

John Steedman, GroupM chief executive across Asia Pacific, said: "Nick has contributed enormously to the growth of the business in Asia Pacific and we wish him the same level of success in EMEA.

"We are fortunate to have such a high-calibre professional in Ashutosh to lead the MindShare business in the region. We are looking forward to the same high level of enthusiasm, drive and innovation that he brought to the business in South Asia."

In India, Ashutosh will be replaced by Vikram Sakhuja, currently managing director of MindShare South Asia, who now takes over as chief operating officer of GroupM in South Asia.
