Watch: Tesco's new TV ads

Tesco puts its "every little helps" slogan at the heart of its new campaign to mark the supermarket's return to TV advertising.

The ads debuted on TV on Sunday (18 October) and introduced the new Tesco family on their weekly shop.

Ruth Jones, who was in Gavin And Stacey, plays the mum. Ben Miller, star of The Armstrong and Miller Show, is the dad, and Will Close plays the part of the son.

The two new ads focus on extra services and deals that Tesco offers to help customers, such as opening extra tills when shop get busy and lowering prices to compete with rivals.

Michelle McEttrick, Tesco’s group brand director, said: "For the past year we’ve been putting customers right back at the heart of everything we do, from improvements in customer service, to launching our new Brand Guarantee.

"So this new campaign presented us with the ideal opportunity to showcase some of those ‘little helps’ we aim to provide customers with each day.

"Tesco has always been at its best when putting customers first and we hope the new campaign demonstrates our efforts to serve customers a little better every day.

"We’re really excited to hear what our customers and colleagues think of the new campaign."

This is the first campaign for Tesco by Bartle Bogle Hegarty since the agency was handed the account earlier this year.

The new ads were created by George Brettell, AK Parker, Matt Moreland and Chris Clarke, and directed by Daniel Kleinman through Rattling Stick.
