Watch: behind Sonos' 'listening amnesty'

Sonos, the sound system brand, invited members of the public to surrender their old speakers in exchange for a Sonos Play:1, as part of its "You're Better Than This" campaign.

In an attempt to draw attention to "listening fails," the first 300 people to arrive at the amnesty walked away with a new Sonos home sound system.

The "You’re better than this" campaign pokes fun at the innovative ways people try to amplify music, and calls out music lovers who put connivence over sound quality.

The old speakers handed to Sonos during the amnesty were collected and used to create a wall of speakers put together by local designers MADE.

Sonos’ UK’s marketing director, Jamie Coomber, told ±±¾©Èü³µpk10: "We’re consuming more and more music than ever… but the way that we’re listening to music in the home has not caught up, so we want to wake people up to these listening absurdities."
