Based in London, Warne will lead the strategic and business direction for AKQA clients – which include Volvo, Rolls-Royce, Starbucks and Virgin Holidays – alongside Jourik Mignom, also executive planning director. The pair report to general manager Ron Peterson.

Warne began his career in TV and film at Australian pay-TV service Foxtel. After 12 years, he joined Droga5 Australia in 2010 as strategic planning director.

Ten months ago, he was named head of strategy, shortly before the agency closed its doors.

At Droga5 Australia, Warne worked across brand strategy, communications planning, social strategy and data analytics with retail, travel and media clients, including Netflix, the BBC and GlaxoSmithKline.
