Wardour wins brief to relaunch Life magazine

Wardour Communications has been appointed by Standard Life Healthcare to relaunch its customer magazine Life following a competitive pitch.

The magazine has a print run of 55,000 and is distributed to a database of Standard Life members.

Mick Hurrell, Wardour's planning and business development director, will become publisher for the title.

The bi-annual magazine is sent to members and contains details of medical, health and lifestyle products.

The first issue to be produced by Wardour will be for the January issue in 2006.

Hurrell said: "As well as a design overhaul, we will be bringing a fresh focus to the magazine's editorial and a new publishing strategy. In the highly competitive health insurance marketplace customer retention is a key business goal."

Wardour is based in London and was founded in 1996 by two former Financial Times journalists.

It also works with clients RSA, UBS, Camelot, Lloyds TSB, Alliance & Leicester, Great Ormond Street Hospital, the World Economic Forum and the Landscape Institute.

Standard Life is the UK's third largest healthcare insurer and offers other financial and banking services.
