Based in London, Ware will head the Wallpaper Group advertising and commercial teams in the UK and across its eight international offices, which include New York, Paris and Hong Kong. His brief is to concentrate on increasing international adverting revenue as well as developing marketing opportunities with existing clients.
Starting in June, he is also due to oversee Wallpaper magazine, the new bi-annual travel title, Navigator, and the development of the soon-to-be-launched Wallpaper website.
Ware joins from PHD Media where, for the past four years, he was a group head on brands including Sainsbury's and The Economist. He has also worked at Carat and Media ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 Services.
Richard Johnstone, the publishing director of Wallpaper, said: "This is not a typical sales appointment. However, with Chris' wide range of media experience and a great track record of creating and managing exciting and innovative campaigns, I know he will add a new dimension to our already dynamic international advertising operation."
Ware added: "It's a really exciting time in the Wallpaper Group's development, with a great opportunity to help develop the portfolio of commercial opportunities, whether Wallpaper, Navigator or wallpaper.com."
