The ad, created by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, is the latest in the long-running series starring Gary Lineker. Venables urges Lineker to steal crisps from his son, while the Newcastle and ex-England boss Sir Bobby Robson plays an angel who encourages Lineker to be good.
The 40-second ad, called "my son", opens with a boy sitting on a park bench eating a packet of cheese-and-onion Walkers. Lineker sneaks up behind him and is about to steal the crisps when Robson appears at his shoulder as his conscience. Venables suddenly appears dressed as the devil, goading him on. But when Lineker slips his hand in the packet, it gets caught in a mouse-trap.
The ad, which breaks early next month, was written and art directed by Peter Souter and produced by Fifi von Heintze. The director was Paul Weiland through The Paul Weiland Film Company. Media planning and buying was through Manning Gott-lieb OMD.
Another spot featuring the three former footballers and a mystery star will be aired in March.
