The ad breaks on May 24 during the Monaco Grand Prix coverage across the region.
It was developed as a collaboration between W&K London and Tokyo, using London's experience with the Honda brand in the UK and Tokyo's experience in developing regional campaigns for clients like Nike Asia.
In the opening scene of the ad, we see a single drop of fuel suspended within an engine cylinder.
We then see a series of drops combusting within the cylinder, which are revealed to be propelling the car forward. Real drops of fuel were ignited and filmed to create the combustion images.
The ad aims to demonstrate how Honda's i-Vtec engine combusts every drop of fuel as fully as possible depending on the driving needs.
The "drive every drop" campaign includes print, poster, interactive and dealer materials that are launching later in the summer.
The TV ad was created by Michael Russoff and Caroline Pay from W&K London and was creatively directed by Sumiko Sato and Hiroshi Yonemura from W&K Tokyo.
Russoff said: "So many fuel efficiency ads are worthy and dull. We wanted to make something for Honda that captured the excitement and beauty of getting the most out of every single drop of fuel."
Dan Wieden, founder and global creative officer at Wieden & Kennedy, said: "The beauty of this expansion is that W&K Tokyo will lead the Asian business and collaborate with W&K London Honda team to leverage their knowledge."
