Chinese artificial intellgence startup Mobvoi, is getting a $180m (£144m) injection from Volkswagen to build the technology into its cars.

The startup, backed by Google and founded in 2012 by a group of former Google employees, will build products for VW models based on its voice-recognition and natural-language processing technologies.

This includes a smart rear-view mirror that provides navigation, messaging and information through voice input said Mobvoi in a . 

In Mobvoi's last round of financing in 2015, led by Google, the company was valued at $300m.
