Schueler will start the role next year, taking responsibility for a budget of about £2m.
A VCV spokesman said its budget had already been increased this year because of the growing commercial vehicles market, and that this would continue next year.
Schueler replaces Nigel Brotherton, who was appointed Audi head of marketing in September. The latter was responsible for a recent £1.5m TV campaign, the first VCV had run in the past two years. The work, created by DDB London, used the strapline 'Apparently, Volkswagen also make cars'.
The VCV TV activity includes two further executions, which will run until early next year.
They will be supported by press, outdoor and direct mail, created by direct agency RLA.
