Volkswagen's Polo tops awards shortlist

LONDON - Proximity London's work for Volkswagen Polo has been shortlisted for five DMA Royal Mail Awards, more than any other client this year.

The agency's work for Volkswagen has been shortlisted in categories including: best automotive work; inserts; high-volume consumer direct mail; and for best launch. The nominations come for its fully integrated work for the Polo, as well as a campaign to promote Polo's air conditioning, featuring ice-cube trays where the ice-cubes were shaped like a VW Polo.

Proximity received 10 nominations overall, but was pipped to the post of most nominated agency by Harrison Troughton Wunderman, which had 12 nominations for a range of clients including Vodafone and the Automobile Association.

Craik Jones Watson Mitchell Voelkel was the third most nominated, with a chance at winning an award in seven categories. The full list of nominees can be seen on the DMA Royal Mail Awards .

This year's competition received more than 900 entries -- a record number of entrants. The winners will be announced at a ceremony on December 3.
