Evans joined the telecoms and broadband operator in March from Havas Media, where he was global client services director on the Emirates account based in Dubai.

Evans will oversee Vodafone’s global media planning and buying business, which is handled by agency GroupM.

Before his stint at Havas, Evans worked at Mindshare China, where he was general manager at its Shanghai office, and client lead on the Nike account.

His Vodafone job marks a return for Evans to the client side. He was head of media EMEA at Xbox between June 2009 and November 2012, according to his LinkedIn profile, and worked across media and marketing at brands and brand owners including Kimberly-Clark, AB InBev, Nestle and First Drinks.

Vodafone told Marketing it did not comment on new appointments.
