Vodafone adds Bartle Bogle Hegarty to £250m global agency roster

Vodafone has appointed Bartle Bogle Hegarty to its £250 million global roster as part of a continued shake-up of its agency relationships.

The agency is currently working on an international brief for the company, which has been tweaking its creative arrangements in the past 12 months.

It won the brief without a competitive pitch.

The global creative account has been handled by Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam since 2001. However, its status on the roster has diminished over the past 12 months.

In July, J. Walter Thompson, which handles the local market execution of W&K's global campaigns, was handed lead status on Vodafone Live!

In November, Vodafone entered talks with the JWT sister shop HHCL/Red Cell and asked all three agencies to present creative ideas for its global ad strategy for this year. However, HHCL was not appointed to Vodafone's roster.

The win fills the gap on BBH's client list left open when it lost the Deutsche Telecom-owned network One2One to Saatchi & Saatchi after seven years.

The account was moved when Deutsche Telecom rebranded One2One, the UK arm of the network, as T-Mobile in line with the brand across Europe.
