The first 24 people to purchase a ‘single ticket’ to the one-off event will set off from London’s King’s Cross at 2.52pm on 14 February, only to return at 7.52pm.
As they enter the train attendees will be met by carriages complete with red roses, romantic music and prosecco, as well as their host, television personality and general manager of First Dates' Galvin Windows, Fred Sirieix.
In a new take on traditional speed dating, the participants will switch seats throughout the journey for a chance to meet their potential love interest.
Virgin Trains’ on-board staff will also take part in an art of service masterclass hosted by Sirieix, to further enhance the Valentine's experience for ticketholders.
David Horne, managing director of Virgin Trains on the East Coast route, said: "Here at Virgin Trains we want all our amazing customers to enjoy Valentine’s Day, including our single passengers. The love carriage is the perfect place to meet new people and who knows, romance could be one train ride away."
Sirieix added: "Valentine’s Day should be celebrated by all and I am over the moon that Virgin Trains has brought me on-board to host the festivities and officiate as the on-board matchmaker."
