Virgin Radio has made its head of agency sales redundant and merged
its client and agency sales operations into a single division.
Carol McCormack, the former head of agency sales, has lost her job at
Virgin following the changes, but is considering other opportunities
within Scottish Media Group.
McCormack has worked for Virgin Radio's agency sales team for the past
four years. She previously worked as a senior sales executive at ITV
sales house Laser.
Mark Swift, sales director at Virgin Radio, has promoted Giles Ivey, the
former head of client sales, to sales head, assuming control of the
newly-merged team.
Meanwhile, Steve Taylor, group enterprises director, has taken on a
wider role and will be responsible for all non-spot sales.
Radio buyers said Swift had been looking to make changes since he
arrived, as he believed there were 'too many chiefs running the show'.
