Virgin Radio gets on track in deal with Virgin Trains

Virgin Radio has secured a major tie-up with Virgin Trains to sponsor the station's drivetime show, presented by Daryl Denham.

Under the deal, Virgin Trains' on-air presence will include three sponsorship credits per hour during the show and three 30-second promotional trails per day.

Virgin Trains will also have a permanent presence with Daryl Denham's web-lounge section on the station's website with editorial to support the show and a link to the Virgin Trains website.

The deal, worth an undisclosed amount, was negotiated by MGOMD, aims to reinforce the Virgin Trains brand and encourage online advance booking.

Virgin Radio sales controller Giles Ivey said: "Using our Access All Areas approach, we've worked very closely with MGOMD to create a unique way of targeting both business and leisure travellers - essential for Virgin Trains."

Virgin Trains marketing director Craig Inglis said: "We're very excited to be working with Virgin Radio on this, our first major sponsorship."
