The bank, which sponsors the Grand Prix, commissioned architect Populous to carry out a study of how a Grand Prix could work in the capital.
Populous, which has worked with the Silverstone circuit that hosts the UK Grand Prix race, teamed up with agency Sidhu and Simon to create a detailed vision for a fantasy race.
Since the film has been released, Formula 1 owner Bernie Ecclestone said he would be interested in funding a London Grand Prix.
Nav Sidhu of Sidhu and Simon told Event: "It was never more than a fantasy but it's now going beyond our control as people have become interested and discussions are taking place. London and Formula 1 have been flirting with each other for a long time. We put it into a CGI format to bring those fantasies to life."
He said the detail in the study could be used to set up a real London event: "Every conceivable challenge a Grand Prix presented was analysed. Everything from curbs, barriers and manhole covers to the 27,000 trees."
A Santander spokesperson told Event: "In 2012, London is the epicentre for such an amazing array of sports, we decided to have a little fun with this and create our own fantasy London Formula 1 Grand Prix race. Could it ever become a reality? Who knows, but our fantasy film shows how it could look. But it is just for fun, to excite fans of Formula 1 all across the UK."
