Vertu picks boss to oversee CRM and DM activity

Vertu, the Nokia-owned luxury mobile phone brand, has appointed Lisa Hunt as international marketing director.

She is to spearhead its efforts at captivating the 'modern elite' with its jewel-encrusted handsets. Hunt replaces Phil Mulholland, who has returned to his native Australia.

Hunt will oversee Vertu's direct marketing campaign and customer relationship programme, driven by Claydon Heeley Jones Mason, to target the affluent with the phones and accessories.

Vertu's phones cost from £3500 to £15,000 and offer lifestyle services such as restaurant booking through a deal with concierge business Quintessentially.

It markets the phones to prospective customers under the strapline 'Unparalleled Communications'. Initiative Media holds its media buying and planning account.

Vertu last month opened a flagship concession store in Selfridges in an attempt to step up demand for the phones, which were previously only available through a private client suite in London's Old Bond Street.
