Verizon hires chief creative officer from Apple to lead in-house agency

Verizon has hired Andrew McKechnie from Apple as its first chief creative officer of its newly formed in-house creative agency.

The former group global creative director of Apple has been handed leadership of Verizon's in-house team with the aim of building out creative capabilities. 

McKechnie will report directly to Diego Scotti, chief marketing officer at Verizon, and be based out of New York. 

"Andrew and his team will help to drive demand for our products and services, as well as accelerate our efficiencies, speed to market and innovation," says Scotti. 

McKechnie joins with more than 16 years experience in design and communications. Starting his career in Asia, McKechnie worked with BBDO and J Walter Thompson before moving to New York in 2010 when he joined Y&R as its global creative director.
