Venos, the GlaxoSmithKline- owned cough remedy brand, is to sponsor GMTV's regional weather in a six-figure deal. The sponsorship will feature three 10-second executions covering each of the Venos variants - Dry, Chesty and Tickley - and will be shown three times a day, five days a week until March 2002. Paul Chard at SponsorCom negotiated the deal. The television activity is part of a 拢1m campaign that will also be supported by a press campaign in women's weeklies including titles such as Bella and Woman. MediaCom's Venos media planner Kate Rowett said: "The sponsorship is built on a simple piece of consumer insight - that people link their health to the weather."
