Vax to sponsor House series on Five

Five has secured vacuum cleaner manufacturer Vax as sponsor of the fourth series of US medical drama House.

The sponsorship deal, which begins this Thursday, includes opening credits, six commercial break bumpers and closing credits in each hour-long episode. Vax will also carry advertising on the Five website. Naomi Martin, marketing manager of Vax, said the campaign aims to drive awareness of the Vax brand with a key target audience.

The previous sponsor for House was household cleaning products company Spontex.

The deal follows Five securing DatingDirect.com to sponsor the new, third series of US hospital drama series Grey's Anatomy.

Grey's Anatomy and House air back to back on Thursdays between 9pm and 11pm.

Five sales director Kelly Williams said the launch of the new series of House and Grey's Anatomy, combined with shows such as CSI, are boosting the broadcaster's commercial performance this year.
