Promoting the brand's Vectra model, the iTV ads will run for just over two weeks on Sky-branded channels as a trial of the medium.
The iTV activity will continue the series of Vauxhall Vectra commercials featuring Hollywood actor Ed Harris.
Harris appears in the ongoing courtroom saga as a lawyer trying to prove claims made about the new car. In the latest commercial, which sees Harris triumphant following the trial, Sky digital viewers will be able to press the red button advertised on screen to jump through to a mini-DAL.
Created by Lowe, the mini-DAL will ask viewers about their plans for future car purchases and will offer them the chance to request a brochure and information pack. Back-end development on the campaign has been carried out by TBWA/GGT Direct, while Initiative Media handled planning and buying.
Vauxhall has previously trialled banner ads on the iTV walled garden service offered by cable operator ntl, but the latest campaign marks the first time it has linked a TV commercial through to an iTV ad.
"This was the first opportunity involving a major car launch to offer this sort of interactivity with the TV ad, said Chris Wright, TV director at Initiative.
