The site will take on rivals in this competitive market with a consumer launch, which will include print and poster work featuring the gospel choir that recently debuted in the brand's TV ads.
USwitch hired Aron Thompson of Insurancewide.com to build and launch the new service. It has been designed using the same new look and feel as the uSwitch site, which relaunched in December.
The sector is flooded with online players, including major insurance brands like Direct Line, pure-play services such as Elephant.co.uk and existing comparison sites, which include Moneysupermarket.com and Confused.com.
However, car insurance is the latest in a series of new launches that have taken uSwitch outside its traditional area of utilities like broadband, TV and energy services and into financial products.
The firm now offers switching services for current accounts, loans and credit cards.
The moves put uSwitch into more direct competition with Moneysupermarket.com, which has recently relaunched its TV advertising campaign.
USwitch has also rolled out generic print and poster executions to back its existing TV ads.
The car insurance service is already live on uSwitch.com as the company gains feedback from users and builds its roster of commercial partners.
