According to media reports, the channel will launch by the end of the year following a deal arranged by , which bills itself as the American Muslim Lifestyle channel, founder Hara Rafiq.
"Bridges TV promises Sky One from a Muslim perspective," Rafiq said.
It is understood that the new channel will be based at studios in Rochdale, in Yorkshire, where around a quarter of the content will be produced, with the rest being acquired.
The US channel has feature documentaries such as the 'Children of Adam' and 'The Muslim Chronicle'. Its schedule also includes progamming such as 'Prominent Scholars', 'Keys to the Quran' and 'Journey to Islamic Countries'.
This will be the latest Muslim-focused channel to launch on Sky, others include the Islam Channel.
The channel was launched in the US last November by Muhammad Ali as "the first American Muslim television network in English", according to a statement at the time.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Arabic TV channel Al Jazeera has drafted in PR support for its soon-to-be-launched English-language channel in the Middle East.
PR firm Brown Lloyd James has been brought in to distance it from its Arabic version, which has been criticised for being too close to Osama bin Laden by the US government.
