Universal McCann has picked up new business worth about £6.5m for BMW Bikes and the Portuguese Cork Association (APCOR).
The APCOR account, won following a three-way pitch, is worth £6m in total and covers the markets of the UK (£2m), US and Australia.
McCann has been given a brief to challenge any movement towards the use of plastic corks within the wine industry.
It follows a three-year investment by Portuguese cork producers to fight claims from the plastic wine tubs industry that a chemical agent in cork degraded the taste of wine.
McCann and Universal McCann Interactive have also picked up the £500,000 media planning and online buying business for BMW Bikes. It aims to drive the BMW Bikes brand forward in 2002.
