Unilever uses site to call for brand ideas

Fmcg giant Unilever is to allow businesses to submit ideas for its

well-known detergent and laundry products through a web site only.

Unilever's European fabrics business has launched the initiative in

association with venture capital firm Vesta Group, which will invite

entrepreneurs to submit new ideas for its existing brands including

Persil, Surf and Comfort.

All ideas and communications for the project - called Unispark - will be

conducted exclusively over the web at www.unispark.com.

Nick Basing, innovation and new business director for laundry in Europe

at Unilever, said: "It is a new initiative designed to attract new ideas

and let us invest on top of what we're already doing."
