Unilever creates tier of worldwide brand directors

Unilever has created international brand director roles for the top

marketers in its home and personal care division. The appointments aim

to develop a consistent global feel for power brands such as Dove, Surf

and Lux.

So far around eight of its senior marketers have been promoted to global

brand director roles.

The move is designed to sharpen the FMCG giant's focus on those brands

with a presence around the world.

The directors, some of whom are based in the UK and some overseas, all

report to Simon Clift, president, marketing, Unilever home and personal

care.

The promotions include Silvia Iagnado, who becomes global brand director

for the Dove brand, and Laurent Kleitman, who takes the same role on

Signal toothpaste.

"The focus on our global brands comes out of our Path to Growth

strategy, which we introduced in February last year," said a Unilever

spokesman.
