Unilever chooses OgilvyOne for Vaseline global digital account

Unilever brand Vaseline has handed its global digital account to OgilvyOne after a two-way pitch against Tribal DDB.

OgilvyOne will work alongside Vaseline's global strategic agency, BBH, on the brand, which is the second-ranking hand and bodycare product in the world by mass distribution. It is also the market leader in the UK, US and South East Asia.

Both OgilvyOne and TribalDDB were appointed to Unilever's roster of global digital agencies last year, along with Dare and Momentum/MRM.

Steve Miles, global brand VP for Vaseline, said the roster had made the pitching process much easier.

"Having our new digital media team in place really helped in this process - their expertise was invaluable in guiding us in our eventual selection. Using Ogilvy One as the digital agency for Vaseline will complement the strength we already have with BBH as our strategic agency partner," said Miles.

"We were impressed by the strong ideas generated during the very competitive pitch process, but the depth and structure of Ogilvy's thinking gave them the edge. We're now looking for them to really help us make Vaseline a brand to be reckoned with in the digital arena."

OgilvyOne managing director Mike Dodds said the account was an important and prestigious win for the agency.
