Unilever appoints Iain Potter in marketing reshuffle

Unilever, the global FMCG giant, has appointed Iain Potter as vice-president marketing for its home and personal care category (HPC).

Potter replaces Matt Close, who has been promoted to the role of vice-president, marketing operations, food and ice cream Europe, Unilever.

Potter will take up his new position from 1 July, and will oversee brands such as Lynx, Dove and Surf.

He moves to the category from his position as vice-president marketing, HPC and foods, Unilever North Africa and Middle East, which he has held for the past six years.

Prior to this, Potter was Unilever’s UK category director for household care.

Potter will sit alongside Hazel Detsiny, vice-president marketing, foods, Unilever UK and Ireland, who was promoted to the role in January. She replaced Paul Nevett, following his promotion to global vice-president for the Unilever brand.
