Unilever appoints DDB to Flora task

LONDON - Unilever has appointed DDB London to the global advertising account for its Flora and Becel margarine brands following a two-way pitch against Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH).

Unilever appoints DDB to Flora task

called the pitch in May and has been working with both agencies on developing ad projects. The account covers activity in Western Europe and North America.

BBH had been handling the accounts for Flora and Becel since 2004.

DDB, which handles the UK account for Unilever's Marmite, will create a campaign for the margarine brands to be rolled out in 2010.

In September, Unilever launched a £4m campaign for Flora, by BBH, celebrating the heritage of the brand and its long-term health benefits.

The activity formed part of a wider strategy to get 100m people to take a 'heart age' test by 2020. As part of the initiative, developed in partnership with the World Heart Federation, ads directed consumers to the website Floraheartage.com.

Unilever has carried the Heart Age logo on packs of Flora Pro.Activ since July, and the logo will appear on all Flora packs from early next year.
