To mark the UN's International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (6 April), UNHCR told the dramatised story of a female refugee who fled her home to escape conflict and persecution.

The film focuses on the woman’s hard-working legs to illustrate the arduous journey to freedom. Having reached safety, she stops running away from something and starts running towards a medal. 

The campaign from UNHCR, in partnership with the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee, supports the more than 60 refugee athletes training to compete at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games.
