
Starting today (18 April), Burningham will head up a team of six in the sponsorship team, with clients such as Kellogg, Beiersdorf, Debenhams and Lego.
She replaces Krane Jeffery who left Carat in February to take up the role of head of advertiser solutions at online giant Yahoo.
Burningham will be responsible for working on media sponsorships, partnerships and promotions for clients across TV, print, online, cinema, radio and experiential.
She will report to David Peters, director, head of Carat sponsorship, who said: "What Amanda has is a creative mind.
"She's done some really interesting and innovative work with UM clients such as Microsoft. She has a natural enthusiasm and belief in the role of sponsorship as a communications channel".
Prior to her role as ideation director, Burningham was head of radio at UM from February 2009 to April 2010 and a radio engagement specialist at UM since 2006.
From 2004 to 2006 Burningham was an agency sales executive at Virgin Radio. Her other talents include cooking – last year she reached the quarter-final stage of the TV contest MasterChef.
Last week Nick Leonard was appointed as an ideation director at UM.
