The government has launched the next phase of its public-information campaign about coronavirus with an ad featuring chief medical officer Chris Whitty and voiceover by actor Mark Strong.
Strong declares: "This is a message from the government’s chief medical officer about coronavirus". Chief medical officer Professor Chris Whitty then reads government advice on coronavirus via a teleprompter.
Whitty encourages people to stay at home for seven days if they develop a high temperature or new continuous cough, and reiterates the importance of washing hands for more than 20 seconds.
Debuting today (19 March), the TV ad comes alongside radio, online and out-of-home activity. It was created by Gavin Cumine and directed by David Barr through Yeti.
