UK division of Joost goes into liquidation

The company, created by the founders of Skype, launched in 2007 but in July this year restructured the business and lost CEO Mike Volpi.

The winding up of Joost comes amid rumours that the company owners are to set up an online music service, Rdio.

The Netherlands-based entrepeneurs also launched Kazaa, a peer-to-peer file-sharing service, in 2001.
