LONDON (Brand Republic) – Chocolate sales in the UK are sluggish and failing to perform as well as expected, according to manufacturer Cadbury Schweppes.
The company said its sales progress was still within its expectations for the year, but stressed it was hoping its domestic business would do better.
Other areas expected to contribute to sales and profits growth include Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa and India.
In the soft drinks market, Cadbury’s Dr Pepper/7-Up business continued to outperform the US soft drinks market, which remained slow in the third quarter due to higher retail prices and poor weather.
