The title is to be published by Haymarket Customer Publishing, and edited by Paul Simpson, former editor of FourFourTwo. The company also publishes the matchday magazine for Manchester United as well as titles for the British Army and Citroen.
Champions will be published six times a year in English, French and German. It will have a price tag of £3.95 in the UK and has a distribution target of more than 150,000.
Uefa has been redeveloping the Champions League with a new format, new branding and renewed sponsorships, as well as a new set of television deals. The organisation hopes that Champions will bring a new element to followers of the competition.
Mike Lee, director of communications at Uefa, said that Haymarket -- which also owns Brand Republic -- was hired because of its range of skills and experience.
"It will give football fans greater access to the tournament, the star players and life behind the scenes in a new and exciting form," he said.
