The exhibition, which has been held at the NEC in Birmingham for the past three years, was formerly known as the National Venues show before it was bought by UBM Live and transformed into Event UK.
The firm said it would plough extra resources into International Confex as a result.
"We want to ensure that our products are the best that they can be and whilst a lot of business was undertaken on the show floor, exhibitors and visitors would be better served by one leading industry event that has the resources behind it to up the ante every year to meet changing demands," said UBM portfolio director Jonny Sullens.
"We're also proud of our continuing role in supporting the industry and in the face of government budget cuts, our exhibitors will get more from Confex if they are not required to split their annual exhibiting budgets."
The Next Big Thing, a feature of the last couple of shows, is set to continue, with UBM announcing details soon.
