Twix Caramel Slices will be priced at £1.49 for a pack of six and are made of a shortcake base with a layer of caramel topped with milk chocolate.
Mars has teamed up with McVitie's Cake Company for the launch. The two companies believe the Twix name will boost its attraction to younger consumers – caramel slices largely appeal to an older demographic.
Twix Caramel Slices are likely to be listed in all the major supermarkets and independents.
Mike Benton, Mcvitie's Cake Company marketing controller, is overseeing the launch, which includes press and sampling activity.
Last month, the United Biscuits-owned brand rolled out McVities Temptations, a range of bite-sized biscuits available in Belgian Milk Chocolate & Hazelnut, Belgian White Chocolate & Truffle and Belgian Milk Chocolate & Praline variants.
