Twickenham reaps benefit of rugby boom

The Six Nations rugby tournament in March 2003 and a resurgence of interest in rugby during last year's World Cup has propelled Twickenham Experience to record financial results for the year ended June 2003.

The company that provides hospitality at the sports stadium in Middlesex posted after-tax profits up 38% to £3.9m on the back of a 24% increase in turnover to £15.4m, compared with last year.

"We had great success in sales for the Six Nations tournament," said Twickenham Experience managing director Mike Potter.
