Turner Media is boosted by key hires

Ian Dowds has been promoted to sales director of Turner Media Innovations from sales controller, as part of a series of promotions and appointments to the Turner Broadcasting ad sales team.

Dowds is now responsible for running all aspects of the sales department, including negotiating agency deals. This previously came under the remit of Simon Cox, vice-president of Turner Media Innovations, who will now concentrate more on strategy.

Meanwhile, Adam Eagle has been promoted to head of sponsorship and promotions from director. Eagle will oversee a team of 10 and is charged with expanding Turner's client business into new media platforms, as well as brokering traditional media campaigns.

Damon Letzer joins TMi from eTV in the newly created position of commercial director. Letzer will be responsible for creating and driving new revenue streams such as gaming, advertiser- funded programming and product placement. All three will report to Cox.
