Trinity Mirror sells Berkshire Regional Newspapers to Berkshire Media Group

LONDON - Trinity Mirror has sold its Berkshire Regional Newspapers group for £10m to the Berkshire Media Group.

Rothschild advised Trinity Mirror in the sale and the price was set in accordance with Berkshire Regional Newspaper's revenues in 2006.

The Berkshire Media Group, a subsidiary of The Dunfermline Press, will assume control of the 14 titles, which includes the Reading Chronicle series.

This sale comes just a month after Trinity Mirror sold 25 of its south-eastern regionals to Northcliffe, a branch of the Daily Mail & General Trust, for £64m. The set included East Surrey and Sussex Newspapers and Kent Regional Newspapers.

Last week Trinity Mirror's chairman, Sir Ian Gibson, was made chairman of the supermarket chain Morrisons.
