The publisher of the Daily Mirror and People newspapers said today (20 July) that it had entered into consultation with Hood, as it also announced a series of other key changes in the digital team.
James Kaye, who previously headed up mobile marketing company Mobizest, has been appointed to the role of interim mobile director.
Shana Hills, previously product development manager for Trinity Mirror national newspaper titles, will now lead the digital product division as its new head of product development.
Kristiaan Kroon, acting nationals digital commercial director, has been promoted to digital sales director to focus on growing the display ad business and working closely with the ad department.
Its digital publishing team has also undergone a revamp.
Steve Anglesey, previously editor of Mirror.co.uk, has been appointed deputy publisher to oversee sports content, as well as continuing to assist publisher Kelly in developing the longer-term, web-publishing strategy.
Ben Rankin, previously deputy editor of Mirror.co.uk, has been confirmed as editor of the site.
Isabel Mohan will take a broader celebrity remit as associate editor (celebrity), but will continue as editor of 3am.co.uk, while Rachael Wheeler has been promoted to deputy editor of 3am.co.uk.
Ann Gripper, previously in an editorial role across Mirror.co.uk, will undertake the role of associate editor (community), and Dave Tarbox, as associate editor (visual), will now lead the editorial strategy for video, pictures and info-graphics. He was previously a video journalist at the Daily Mirror.
The company said changes to the structure of the division would see all digital heads of department now report directly to Ellis, who was himself hired from IGN international in May to bring about change in the digital division.
Ellis said: "These changes will allow us to focus more closely on our digital ambitions of accelerating our digital growth across our portfolio of sites."
