The Sunday Mirror will now produce Celebs on Sunday and continue to produce Homes and Holidays, while the Daily Mirror will produce the Saturday magazine, We Love Telly!.
The company would not comment on any potential redundancy negotiations being carried out with staff, or any future role for Simon Clough, who headed the team.
A Trinity Mirror spokesman insisted that the move was largely a change in reporting lines. “This is about bringing all elements of the brands under the direction of the specific editors of our national newspapers in order to take full advantage of all the varying platforms,” he said.
Today’s news puts an end to plans by the group to produce stand-alone paid-for magazines.
In November, The People’s magazine, Take it Easy, was moved to the newspaper’s editorial floor.
