Travel Inn hands revamp ad work to HHCL Red Cell

Travel Inn, the UK's biggest hotel brand, is poised to appoint HHCL Red Cell to its £3m advertising account as it relaunches its brand identity and logo.

The Whitbread-owned firm has revamped its crescent moon logo with a bolder typeface and clearer look as part of a brand awareness exercise that will see it give the logo more prominence on the hotels and in its marketing.

Vibrandt, part of the Sandom Group, redesigned the logo after being appointed to the task last autumn in a pitch against BMP DDB and HHCL & Partners (Marketing, September 29).

The identity will launch across Travel Inn's 300 hotels, starting in Sheffield on April 1. Reception areas and uniforms have also been redesigned.

Sandom Group has created the brand's recent outdoor advertising, but the company is understood to be on the verge of forging a longer-term relationship with HHCL Red Cell, which has created its current crop of radio ads, using the tagline 'You're in for a good night's sleep'.
