Iconic London venues such as London Bridge and the Tower of London are set to be used for the launch of the World Cup tournament ball, and the arrival of the draw balls.
Reports also suggest Earls Court, Excel and the London 2012 Media Centre are frontrunners to host the tournament broadcast centre.
One of the most ambitious plans hidden inside the bid document is to decorate the O2 as a giant football and host the draw itself within its walls.
Earls Court owner EC&O confirmed it has been approached about its role in the 2018 tournament:
"We can confirm that EC&O Venues has been approached as part of the World Cup 2018 bid," said a spokesperson. "This is an exciting project for London and the UK and we look forward to seeing the plans develop further."
