Y&R has appointed Saul Betmead, the global planning director for Vodafone and Citibank at Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, to the new position of chief strategy officer for the network in EMEA. ()

Tribal Worldwide London has promoted Simon Poett, a creative director at the agency, to the role of executive creative director, replacing Chris Baylis. ()

Matthew Charlton and Neil Dawson, the chief executive and the executive creative director respectively of BETC London, are leaving the agency. They are being replaced by Andrew Stirk, formerly BETC London’s executive head of planning who becomes chief executive, and Rosie Bardales, a former creative director at Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam, who takes on the ECD role. ()

Brian Cooper, the executive creative director at Ogilvy & Mather London, has left the WPP agency by mutual consent. ()

Dylan Williams, the partner and chief strategic officer at Mother, has resigned from the agency to become the global chief strategy and innovation officer at Publicis Worldwide. ()

DLKW Lowe has hired David O'Hanlon from data consultancy Beyond Analysis as a global planning director on Unilever's Persil brand. ()

Dan Gregson, a managing director of Beattie McGuinness Bungay, is leaving the agency to lead Grace Blue's revamped mid-level recruitment offering. ()

Saatchi & Saatchi has appointed Lisa Bowcott, the planning director at Havas Worldwide London, as the head of planning. ()

JWT London has hired the former Fallon creative John Cherry as a creative director. ()

Profero London has hired Eloise Smith, a creative di­rector at Havas Worldwide London, as its executive creative director, replacing Ben Clapp. ()

BT Openreach has appointed Joe Garner, the UK boss at HSBC and a former Procter & Gamble and The Link marketer, as its new chief executive. ()

Former Kimberly-Clark marketing director Jon White has joined brand consultancy Elmwood as managing director of its London office. ()

BMW has appointed Uwe Dreher as its UK marketing director following last year's promotion of predecessor Chris Brownridge. ()

Media

David Emin, the former ad director at the Mirror newspapers, has resigned from his position as the managing director of Trinity Mirror's ad sales arm, the National Advertising Sales Agency. ()

The Huffington Post Media Group has promoted Carla Buzasi, editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post UK, to the newly created position of global director of HuffPost Life. ()

Don Elgie, CEO of Creston, is to retire from the company he founded in 2001 on the 31 March. He will be succeeded by Barrie Brien, the current chief operating officer and chief finance officer, who has been with the group since 2004. ()

Selfridges has appointed Clive Reeves Public Relations to support its Birmingham store following a competitive four-agency pitch. ()

Ann Bartling has been picked to lead Edelman's health practice following the resignation of Paul Gittins late last year after less than three months in the role. ()

Robin Hamman, a former digital director at Edelman, has been appointed to lead FleishmanHillard’s EMEA social business practice. ()

MSLGroup London has hired Will McIntyre as director of its technology practice. ()

Manchester-based Tangerine PR has appointed Adele Wilson to the new role of head of strategic insight and planning. ()

Marketing advisory company Waypoint Partners has appointed former Grayling CEO Michael Murphy as its first chairman. ()

Eliot Edwards has joined Brussels-based Aspect Consulting as director of public affairs. ()
