Sylvia Auton, the chairman and chief executive of IPC Media, will retire on 3 May after 36 years with the publishing company. Auton joined IPC in 1977 as a marketer and rose through the ranks to the chief executive role by 2003. ()

PC Media has appointed Marie Claire publisher Toby Evans to the same role on its fashion and beauty magazine InStyle, replacing Sarah Hammond who has left the company. ()
