Antony Hill, business director at JWT London, has been promoted to head of account management. He replaces Paul Kirkley and Sonali Fenner, who will stay at the agency to focus on running key accounts. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Tim Hipperson, G2 Joshua's group chief executive, has resigned and will leave the agency next year. G2 Joshua has yet to name a replacement for the position. (±±¾©Èü³µpk10)

Google has promoted Alice Mansergh to its top European consumer marketing role, replacing Obi Felten who has taken up a new job in ‘Google X’, the digital giant's secretive lab in San Francisco. ()

Former Manchester United star goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar is returning to his first major club Ajax as marketing director. ()

Mondelez has promoted Peter Seymour, its lead UK coffee marketer, to a position overseeing its chocolate brands, including Cadbury, across Europe.)

Tony Hall, the chief executive of the Royal Opera House and a former director of BBC News, has been appointed director general of the BBC, replacing George Entwistle who resigned after just 54 days earlier this month.

Mike Moran, the former managing director of CBS Outdoor, and Toyota commercial director, has joined Arena Media as its interim commercial director ahead of the departure of Pippa Glucklich. ()

Steve Auckland is to become chief executive of the new regional newspaper group Local World, which Daily Mail & General Trust (DMGT). ()

Tony Regan, Initiative chief strategy officer, is set to leave the agency before the end of the year.

MEC has appointed Ben Gordon to the role of head of new business and named Lucie Radford as its new business director. ()

FremantleMedia Enterprises has hired Jayne Stephens, sponsorship and content director at Starcom MediaVest Group, as head of brand partnerships, UK. (

Global Radio, the owner of Classic FM and the Heart network, has hired Matt Jeffries, director of customer intelligence at BSkyB, to the new role of group director of insight, research and analytics. ()

UK outdoor media owner Eye has appointed Matthew Wilkinson to the role of business leader, mobile, with immediate effect, as its new Australian owner seeks to sell the UK business on. ()

Twitter has appointed Peter Chernin, media mogul and former News Corporation president, to its board as it seeks to strengthen its media and entertainment ties. ()
