Aegis Media's former trading director Steve Platt has teamed up with the managing partner of Rickards Media, David Rickard and Kevin Waller, to launch media consultancy Rickards3. ()

Arena Media’s chief operating officer, Paul Van Barthold, is leaving the agency after 12 years to pursue other interests. Admedia, the outdoor media owner, has promoted Phil Daniel and Mick Tedder to the respective roles of national sales director and commercial director as part of a management restructure after the exit of managing director Adam Mills. ()

Naked founding partner John Harlow has resurfaced at Australian shop The Brand Agency as director of communications planning. ()

Immediate Media has promoted Andy Healy to the position of publishing director. Healy will report to Andy Marshall, group managing director of Immediate Media, and be responsible for ensuring the ongoing success of the portfolio of magazines, websites and multiple brand extensions formerly within the BBC magazines Bristol stable, as well as 220 Triathlon. Telefonica Digital has appointed senior Google executive Simon Birkenhead as its first global advertising sales director. ()

Yahoo's EMEA managing director Rich Riley is to return to the US, sparking a search for a replacement. ()
